It still doesn't seem real?

The moment, when you pick your child up from his nursery or school and reality hits you. I do actually have a child. Like seriously, I have a little human who counts on me for absolutely everything. Since becoming a Mother, I haven't really taken the time to sit down, relax and take everything in. The moment your first born child gets placed into your arms for the very first time, everything else just vanishes.

Looking back to when I fell pregnant with Finley, I genuinely thought a few extra hours in bed on a Sunday or a shower longer than Five minutes, weren't such a big deal. I took all of the simple things in life for granted but now I've got a child I'd kill just to have 10 minutes longer asleep in the morning or to even have a shower in the first place. Please don't get me wrong, though. Having a child weighs out all of them with how amazing it all is.
Having a child has made me realise that even if you do get woken up at 4 am to be told about Blaze Monster Machines or how biscuits are appropriate for breakfast, it's all forgotten when you see how much yourself and your child has achieved in such a small space of time.

I'm immensely proud of how much myself and Finley can concur in 3 years, and how much I will be learning about myself as a person and a mummy in the future.

So next time you grab a spare 30 seconds away from the tedious children's programs or sticky jam sandwich fingers being prodded into your face, think about how you've done so much so far and how much theres still left to learn. But best of all, how amazing you have done and not matter how stressed you can feel, you're that little person's mummy and you're doing just fine!
