All about the face behind the computer screen.

About me posts are something every blogger has done once or more times in their blogging life, something i actually didn't do on my old blog? which is quite weird, but here we are.
I really struggle to do these kind of things as I'm not the most interesting person in the world, so bare with me whilst i bore you with my life story.

Hello, my name is Ashleigh (which may already be quite obvious) I'm 23 years old and I'm from a place in the Midlands called Derby. I live with my boyfriend Tom of 4 years and our 2 (nearly 3) year old son called Finley. We live in a quite area of Derby called 'Oakwood' which we are rather fond of.
We are currently renting our house due to small amount of funds when we moved, so unfortunately we couldn't get a mortgage and get our own place. But nevertheless we are quite happy renting, for now.

I was born in Derby but moved to Leighton Buzzard in 2012 to be with my current boyfriend and his family as he had a job there and i didn't have one in Derby so it just made sense. We then found out in February 2013 we was pregnant with Finley. We lived with Tom's parents until Finley was a year old and that's when we moved back to Derby to be close to my family. We was unsure if everything would plan out having to move 100 miles straight into living on our own after never doing it, but it's all worked out perfectly.

I don't really have any hobbies at the moment as everything has been so busy the past few years with living on our own and I've found being a stay at home mum to a mardy two year old has taken so much of my time up. Instead of concentrating on a hobby or anything for myself, i normally spend my 'me time' eating chocolate, drinking tea and watching rubbish TV. Before i had Finley i was quite into Crochet & Knitting, quite sad it's been pushed onto the back burner a little as i really enjoyed that, i find it takes so much time up and i always do the normal parent thinking of "instead of doing this i could be showering in peace or eating without little hands stealing everything" so I've just not bothered.

I don't think there much more to say about myself really, i told you my life is pretty much black & white.

Until next time..
Ashleigh x

  1. I too started to crochet a while back now and it was so nice to sit and crochet Haven't found the time recently and have a few unfinished projects. But plan to get back to to it this winter. You should try and find some time to do it if you want to. xx

  3. I think as parents, we naturally put our kids first so the things we used to do for "us" suddenly become less important and pushed to the side. It definitely becomes easier to pick those things back up once the kids become more independent or start school xx

  4. It's nice to hear a bit more about you! Hopefully now that Finley is a little older, you can start crocheting again or find a new hobby to enjoy in your spare time! :) x

  8. Love these type of post, it's great to see the face behind the blog a bit more. You may have inspired me to do one to! We are also renting, kills me paying someone else's mortgage but sure that's life... xx
